If you’re on the hunt for a laptop that not only comes packed with powerful components but also boasts a huge display, you’d want to check out the Razer Blade 18. This is one of the most premium laptops offered by Razer, and it can handle whatever you throw at it with ease. This makes it one of the best 18-inch laptops.
The Razer Blade 18 is powered by the RTX 4090 GPU. It features 16GB of VRAM, meaning it can run the latest titles with the highest graphical settings. For the CPU, the Blade 18 comes with the Intel Core i9-13950HX processor, which belongs to the 13th-gen lineup and is one of the most powerful processors available for laptops. With 24 cores and 32 threads, this processor is built for high-demanding tasks. One of the features that make it stand out from the rest is the display. We get an 18-inch QHD+ screen with a peak brightness of 500 nits, something that makes it usable in well-lit settings. On top of that, it has a refresh rate of 240Hz, which further adds to its glory.
Just as what you’d expect from a premium laptop, we get 32GB of DDR5 RAM paired with a 2TB SSD. 32GB of RAM is not only excellent for gaming but for productivity tasks as well. And with 2TB of storage, you won’t have to worry about frequently deleting old data to install something new. In case you’re not satisfied with what the laptop offers, you can add up to 64GB of RAM and 8TB of storage, but this is going to cost you a lot.
While the Razer Blade 18 has a sleek design even with powerful hardware packed inside it, you don’t have to worry about overheating issues as it features an ultra-efficient cooling technology with a 3-fan system. Overall, the Razer Blade 18 is one of the best Razer gaming laptops, perfect for those who either want a desktop replacement or just something with a bigger display.
- 13th-generation Core i9 processor
- NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 GPU
- 240Hz refresh rate
- Expensive
If you want a 4K laptop for gaming, then we’d suggest looking at the Razer Blade 16.
The laptop comes equipped with a 13th-generation Core i9 processor that can reach a maximum turbo speed of 5.5 GHz, which should deliver faster processing speeds. Further, you get 32GB RAM and 1TB SSD, which should speed up your tasks. For the storage, we’d recommend upgrading to a 2TB SSD as games these days take up a lot of space.
Coming to the display, you get a 16-inch Dual LED screen with a 4K resolution, which should be suitable for most people. Plus, it has 1,000 nits of brightness, so you should be able to view it comfortably in well-lit environments.
For video games and other graphics-intensive tasks, you get a 16GB RTX 4090 GPU, which is similar to what some of the best laptops for Cyberpunk 2077 come equipped with. Plus, this laptop also has a 240 GHz refresh rate, which is sufficient for competitive gaming. Interestingly, Razer designed the screen with the ability to switch between resolutions and refresh rates to suit the user’s needs on the spot.
Like with all Razer laptops, this unit has a black-colored aluminum case and the signature logo on the top cover. All the components have been fit into a chassis that is only 0.87 inches thick, making it sleeker.
- Powerful GPU
- 240Hz QHD display
- Decent RAM
- Storage may be low for some users
We think that the Razer Blade 15 is the best Razer gaming laptop for 1440p gaming. The laptop features powerful components that can run AAA games smoothly while maintaining a high frame rate and is on par with some of the best RTX 4070 gaming laptops.
For the GPU, we have the RTX 4070 with 12GB of VRAM. There is also a version of Blade 15 that comes with the RTX 4060, but you’d want to go with the RTX 4070 variant to stay on the safe side. The GPU is paired with the Intel Core i7-13800H processor, which comes with 14 cores and 20 threads. It is built to push through resource-hungry tasks and can handle CPU-intensive games smoothly, like Red Dead Redemption 2 and Cyberpunk 2077.
As for the RAM, we get 16GB of DDR4 RAM. Most of the latest demanding games require 16GB RAM, so you’ll be fine with it. As for the storage, it may prove to be low for some users, as the laptop comes with a 1TB SSD. Ideally, you’d want at least 2TB of SSD to store plenty of data. We’d also suggest you upgrade the RAM to 32GB, as you will no longer have to worry about making any upgrades for at least a few years.
Coming down to the display, we have a 15.6-inch 240Hz QHD display that offers great visuals. If you’re planning to use your laptop in well-lit environments or outdoors, you can benefit from the display’s peak brightness of 600 nits. On top of that, Razer promises up to 10 hours of battery life with the Blade 15, so you won’t have to worry about plugging in the charger after every hour or two.
Overall, the Razer Blade 15 is an excellent laptop that not only looks well-designed but also packs a punch in the performance department.
- NVIDIA RTX 4060 GPU
- Lightweight
- 10 hour battery life
- Storage may be low for some users
If you want a Razer laptop with a smaller display, which makes it easy to carry the laptop around, then the Razer Blade 14 might be a solid choice. In fact, we think it’s a good contender to be one of the best RTX 4060 gaming laptops.
The laptop comes with a 14-inch screen and 1440p resolution, so it produces vivid images at 216 PPI. While the 14-inch screen may be less desirable for some, the smaller size should work for users who want something with a less power-hungry screen.
On the inside, the Razer laptop houses a Ryzen processor and Nvidia GPU, which is a rare combination. Still, the Ryzen 9 7940HS competes favourably with many 13th-generation Core i9 processors, so you can expect the same efficient performance. In terms of the GPU, the laptop has an 8GB RTX 4060, which should be sufficient for most AAA games.
Like most Razer laptops, this one is designed with a comparatively slim chassis, which is 0.7 inches thick. And at 4.05 pounds, it’s also easy to carry around. To add to that, the laptop promises around 10 hours of battery life, so you should be able to get a day’s worth of use. Plus, the laptop charges up to 80% in an hour with a 100W charger, so you should be able to charge it quickly.
How to pick the best Razer laptop
To help you narrow down your search for the best Razer laptop, you can go through these pointers.
CPU
If you are looking for a Razer laptop for gaming or content creation, then you should look for a powerful processor that can handle demanding games and programs. For gaming and daily tasks, you can get a quad-core or a hexa-core processor. And for content creation, you can consider getting an octa-core CPU.
For instance, you might want to look at some of the best Intel 13th-gen laptops or the best Intel 12th-gen laptops if you want to run AAA games and video editing software with ease. However, for casual games and daily tasks, you can consider going for a mid-range or older processor like Intel 10th or 11th gen.
GPU
Much like the processor, you should look for a GPU that can run your video games and software. If you want to play AAA games, then you can consider investing in NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3000 series or RTX 4000 series graphics card. However, if you want to game casually and are not looking to run power-hungry software, then mid-range and entry-level GPUs should suffice.
RAM and Storage
If you’re planning to play AAA games on your laptop, you need at least 16GB of RAM. Getting a laptop with 32GB of RAM will put in you a safe spot, but you’ll be fine with 16GB if you’re tight on a budget. As for the storage, aim for at least 2TB. Even if you’re opting for a laptop with a 1TB SSD, make sure to upgrade it after a while, as games these days have a large file size, and your storage device can get full quickly.
Display
Razer laptops’ display size ranges from 14-inch to 18-inch. Plus, you get to choose between FHD, QHD, and 4K resolutions. If you want a higher refresh rate, then you can go for an FHD or QHD resolution. However, if you want more detailed visuals and better picture quality, then you can consider going for a 4K gaming laptop.
Battery
A great battery life will make you fall in love with your laptop, while a poor battery life will make you regret your purchase. Some Razer laptops offer a battery life of up to 10 hours, but the ones with bigger displays only last for a few hours. You’d want to go with a model that can last for at least four hours after a full charge.
Weight
Carrying around a heavy laptop all day can take a toll on your back, neck, and shoulders. While Razer is known for making laptops that are sleek and well-designed, some of their models, especially the 18-inch ones, can weigh up to 3.1 KG. If you’re planning to keep your laptop on your desk for the most part, you’ll be fine with any model. But if you’re going to carry it around every day, you’d want to get something that is lightweight.
Our Verdict
We think that the Razer Blade 18 is the best Razer laptop currently available in the market. It comes packed with the latest GPU paired with a powerful processor, which makes it suitable for running AAA at high graphical settings. Plus, you get an 18-inch QHD+ display, which should deliver detailed, vibrant visuals. The display also has a 240Hz refresh rate, so you should be able to game without screen-tearing.
